FRP grade and quality

a)Comparison by grade
By selecting reinforcing materials and molding methods, we have made it possible to manufacture a wide variety of products, from products with low costs to products with high functionality.

Grade Symbol Contents Molding method
Type 1 FRP1 An important strength part that requires the highest strength and rigidity in one direction. Press
Filament winding
Type 2 FRP2 An important strength part that requires the highest degree of strength and rigidity.
Type 3 FRP3 An important strength part that requires a high degree of strength and rigidity.
Type 4 FRP4 Strength part that requires medium strength and rigidity. Wet layup
(Hand layup)
Type 5 FRP5 A part whose strength and rigidity can be slightly disliked for economic reasons.
Type 6 FRP6 A part that does not require much strength and rigidity.
Type 7 FRP7 A part whose structural characteristics are not important.

b)Standard example of reinforcing material composition for each grade

Grade Symbol Contents
Type 1 FRP1 Roving (FW)
Type 2 FRP2 Satin cloth (pressurized)
Type 3 FRP3 Satin cloth (contact pressure), plain cloth (pressurized)
Type 4 FRP4 Satin cloth (contact pressure), plain cloth + roping cloth (contact pressure)
Type 5 FRP5 Plain cloth + mat (contact pressure)
Type 6 FRP6 Mat (contact pressure)
Type 7 FRP7 Mat (contact pressure)
